First topic message reminder :

If anyone is wondering, Windows 8 was originally intended for mobile devices but Microsoft had to develop the 8.1 patch because many people still use a desktop computer rather than a mobile device. Unfortunately there's going to be a time when support for win7 (which is what I'm using at present) will end, but I'm hoping that this doesn't happen anytime soon.

Actually turning auto updates off isn't a good idea, then you wont get the cricital updates, like updates on the latest bugs, viruses, etc.

I think most people mis understand what Microsoft is doing through auto update. What Microsoft is doing is sending the Windows 10 DOWNLOAD to your computer through auto update, you would still need to manually trigger the upgrade through one of those pop up bubbles and stuff. They dont upgrade your computer through the updates, they simply send your computer the download of windows 10, so that if you accidently click one of those pop ups, it can auto upgrade itself. As long as you dont hit one those pop ups to upgrade, your computer wont be upgraded.

Those pop ups will stop coming in about a month or so when Microsoft stops offering the free upgrade. Wink

Yes, Windows 10 appears to be a very good operating system, probably the best one since Windows 7. Smile

By this time most of the kinks have probably been worked out as well, which is always good. Smile

Yeah, Windows 7 is one of the best Operating Systems besides Windows XP and Windows 10. It is Windows Vista though, that allowed Windows 7 to be so good though. It allowed Microsoft to see where it went wrong and make it better in Windows 7. Wink

In my above post, I meant Windows 10, not Windows Vista.

Windows Vista is terrible. Windows 10 is not from I have heard.

Yes there is alot features on windows 10 that saves alot of info on what you do on your pc, but almost all of these features can be DISABLED if you don't want them on. Wink

The features are simply to try and personalize the experience and Microsoft has an excellent reputation for not really sharing what information it gets from pcs and stuff. Still I know what you mean and so does microsoft, that is why they let you disabled the features if you like.

Just keep in that Microsoft's support for windows 7 will be ending in 2020. So you only have about 2 years left before all updates to it stop.

Once the support ends they stop making security updates for it making the os and computers on it very vulernable to viruses, etc. Any pc running windows xp these days probably has more viruses then a hospital lol.

I have 0 things saved somewhere at my win 10.

I have illegal copy so I have copyright notice always at the bottom of my screen at my laptop.

Everything inportant for me is on my external hard drive and one usb (32 GB which is always somewhere with me). As well as 3 other USB drives which have some important stuff for work or college.

Noone is spying on me on win 10 as noone was at win 7 or xp.

I don't even have microsoft account. I got it somehow with my google account.

And half of my online work is somewhere at Google but nothing at win Very Happy
What could someone spy you for? Are you selling drugs or what? If yes, they will spy you on any computer so I don't see much difference. Of corse, you don't share your presonal details too much and it's ok

Pretty sure that I've said this in the past, but the only thing that people can do is either keep up with technology as it advances despite their misgiving or get left behind.

Well I still have Windows Vista Home Edition on my old computer. It still working good. I was used to it a long time too. I still use Windows 10 on the laptop but I am used it by now. Since using it for a long time now. But I have used many different editions of Windows over the years. But I would say I do like Windows Vista and Windows 10 Smile
