Re: Microsoft Debate
First topic message reminder :
If anyone is wondering, Windows 8 was originally intended for mobile devices but Microsoft had to develop the 8.1 patch because many people still use a desktop computer rather than a mobile device. Unfortunately there's going to be a time when support for win7 (which is what I'm using at present) will end, but I'm hoping that this doesn't happen anytime soon.

Re: Microsoft Debate
I do use Ad Block on Google Chrome since it doesn't work on Mircosoft Edge at all. It does help to block ads which is always good since I do get sick of looking at these ads after a while. I was on Windows Vista not sure if that was Windows 7 or not. But that was before my computer died and didn't come back to life again. I have been using Windows 10 on the laptop for a long time now. I am used to it now. It is a lot different than Windows Vista or XP. But it works a lot better and I do like it a lot. That is my thoughts

Re: Microsoft Debate
Not sure if I got the update for May. It did update a while ago. I haven't really noticed too much changes. But I am sure Aaron or Brandon did notice it. Not sure what the Light Theme is but I am sure it is pretty cool

Re: Microsoft Debate
You woulda noticed if you had Josh cause your taskbar woulda become white instead of black and also skinnier.
Re: Microsoft Debate
the Light theme does not make the taskbar Look Skinnier it's still the same size as it always have been unless you got your screen resolution set to high then it looks strange Light mode picture when you had Classic Theme for windows 7 that well looked kind of the same there really isn't much difference between Light mode and classic mode it uses almost the same theme just a More Modern Look to it by design windows 10 is more flat looking compare the Light Mode to windows 10 and Mac OS there kind of the same when El Capitan came out only it was a small change nothing new to have Light and Dark Mode in an OS it's actually Kind of cool
Re: Microsoft Debate
I did not get the May update for Win10 and, after seeing the problems that Aaron had, with this, I'm glad that I didn't. I was having issues with pop-ups actually, but have managed to solve this.

Re: Microsoft Debate
Nevertheless its still best to wait until your forced to update, to install updates to your pc. So if there are bugs they will have had time to do a corrected update.
Re: Microsoft Debate
Still have not gotten the new update yet. Anyone know when its expected to drop for everyone?
Re: Microsoft Debate
they say it's a slow roll out computers are starting to get it now your's might get it soon i would keep checking everyday just to make sure and it will likely come on Patch Tuesday now me i used the media creation tool for mine cuz i normally get it on release day normally if it came in windows update this time it didn't so i downloaded the Media creation tool and updated it from there do not do the update assistant cuz it is buggy from what i found out and i had to do it over with the second option
Re: Microsoft Debate
Thanks for the info for the new update. I didn't notice anything new about task bar as it looked the same as before. I do have Adblock on Google Chrome and I don't see any ads including any pop up ads. The way I do see ads is going Mircosoft Edge. But I do get annoyed by all of these ads all over the place. I hope that helps if you are using Google Chrome

Re: Microsoft Debate
to get to the theme settings in the new update you have to go into Personalization and colors from there you can now chose between the light and dark modes and they have a custom mode to if you want to add color to the taskbar to go with the theme of your background if you wanted to
Re: Microsoft Debate
That means you probably didn't get it yet. It seems to be a common thing that most devices have not recieved it yet.DJJosh wrote:Thanks for the info for the new update. Re: Microsoft Debate
i did mine with the Media creation tool and i also made a Bootable USB drive incase i did a clean install microsoft has these tools for a reason so people can get the OS and they have said you can install it that way if you have not got the update yet that's how i did it and it has been running fine since
Re: Microsoft Debate
you might not get the update sometime till 2020 either mid july of 2020 or august of that year that's when 1803 is due to reach the end of it's support cycle so you will have to move to the new version regardless even if you use the creation tool or not i would say update it while they have it available for download on there site while there is time before the fall version comes out if there is one this year i would say better to be safe then sorry then to not update it at all.

Well that is no fun at all. It did some kind of Mircosoft update a while back. Not sure if that was the newest update or not. It all looks the same to me. Unless they haven't did the latest update yet. Hopefully some time soon then I can know what everyone is talking about with a lighter task bar or any other new things with the update

I hope so. I hope it does it automatically since waiting for the updates can take a lot of patience

Re: Microsoft Debate
it does i was normally on the first wave of getting it but it didn't show for me i ended up doing it myself with the media creation tool if you where like me and wondered where it was at and didn't get it there are 2 ways of getting it 1 through windows updates as an optional update some people never look in there optional part of windows updates and the second way is how i did it that's to download the media creation tool that very much does the same thing only difference is your manually installing it your self without microsoft forcing it on you and the creation tool option will work for people 99.9% of the time so you can do it 2 ways
