Latest news is, he was out last night (his first night) and my Mom's other cat Oreo kept his distance and stared at him all night. As of right now though, Grayson is hiding under a spare bed in the back of the room.

Thanks for the pictures Brandon. I have seen other ones of Grayson on Debbie's Facebook page. It seems the two cats are still trying to get used to each other. But it will work out eventually. Thanks for the update too Brandon

They have started to get along now. Took them about 3 days.

Moving is very stressful on pets, so it was wise to let Grayson have some space to himself
It would have been very bad if Oreo or anyone got close to him too soon, as he would have 
Probably attacked and killed or badly injured Oreo or the person that got too close.

Actually Grayson started feeling right at home the first night and tried to approach Oreo within the first day, it was Oreo who wasn't happy with Grayson being there at first.

Grayson was in a few different foster homes before being adopting so he was kind of used to being shuffled around.

Anyway Grayson and Oreo are now best buds and getting along just fine.

To Grayson in the picture, but it sounds as though Oreo has adjusted to things and there will be no major 
fights between the two of them, NEVER EVER get between cats in a fight, they will claw your arms to bits, 
or bite hard enough to draw blood and cause infections bad enough to need a lengthy hospital stay.

Well actually the cat that passed away Tux was the alpha, Oreo is a scaredy cat, he would much rather run then fight. This of course worked in ohr favor. Oreo would only hiss if they got too close and he watched grayson like a hawke the first 2 days.

well either way, Oreo is still the top cat now, so my earlier post is still valid

It takes time for cats to become accustomed to each other when meeting for the first time. Such was the case when our cat at the time (a white odd-eyed cat named Lucifer) met a stray that we took in (an orange tabby that subsequently became known as Milo). They were buddy-buddy for the most part, but Lucifer stopped grooming himself (which is a sign of stress due to Milo's presence). Unfortunately these cats are now gone (put to sleep due to urinary tract blockages), but remember both of them quite well (I have a picture of Lucifer actually).

I wouldn't be so sure Oreo will remain the Alpha for long, like I said he is a scaredy cat and Grayson is about 2x bigger then him. Last time that is exactly how Tux became the alpha.

well, either way, the point is they are not fighting or ripping each other apart, as that can get very messy and dangerous for the cats

Nope they aren't they are best pals now, they even sleep next to each other now.

How has everyone's 2019 been so far?

Mine didn't start very well, but the issues responsible for this have been quite minor.

It's been busy but otherwise ok.
