Re: Train sets!
You're most welcome Brandon, I'm glad that you're still following this. I'm happy to report that some minor track work has allowed former CP Rail 404910 to operate on the PLRX's westbound mainline now.Brandon wrote:Thanks for the updates on this TTFan .

Re: Train sets!
Hello all, have some updates to share. As of 10:15PM CST on 3/7/2024, the tanker car mentioned in the post previous to this one has been retired due to severe issues. Its been replaced by another tank car owned by Mobilgas however. Operations on the PLRX have become somewhat sporadic now but they do happen. The funeral train has also been taken apart now.
Please stay tuned for further updates as the PLRX's story continues.

Re: Train sets!
Hello all,
Not much to report at present (6:35PM CDST on 3/27/2024), but the transport of several cargos (including grain & malt barely) continues.

Re: Train sets!
Hello all,
Just wanted to say that operations on the PLRX remain sporadic at best but are still happening.
Its also worth mentioning that former Conrail 8276 has been having a lot of issues with its train horns.

Re: Train sets!
Hello folks.
As of 4:10PM CDST on 8/1/2024, the PLRX's operations continue to be sporadic due to electrical issues. The 9276's horn issues have been sorted out now, but the unit looks a little unusual as it only has one horn mounted on the top of its cab.
Please stay tuned as the PLRX's story conitnues.

Re: Train sets!
Hello everyone,
Just wanted to say that, as of 1:50PM CDST on 8/17/2024, the PLRX continues to operate despite ongoing electrical issues (admittedly these operations are somewhat sporadic). Unfortunately, there's been some disagreement about barley and grain shipments in the past couple of weeks.
Plz stay tuned for further updates as the Phoenix Line Railroad's story continues.

Re: Train sets!
Hello everyone, have some updates to share with you.
As of 9:05AM CST on 10/1/2024, the railroad has purchased a new crane. Said crane, road no.414212, replaces the badly aged former CRIP (Chicago, Rock Island & Pacific) crane currently assigned to the wreck train. Also, former CP Crail work flat 41130 has also been assigned to the previously mentioned train. Said car will be used as a location to store a recovered locomotive or piece of rolling stock as well as its transport to the railroad's shops for repair (or scrapping, should the need arise).
There's a chance that the railroad's other crane, also purchased 2nd-hand, will be used on this train instead but I'm not entirely sure at this time. I will do what I can to keep all of you informed regardless of what happens.
Please stay tuned for further updates as the Phoenix Line Railroad's story conitnues.

Re: Train sets!
Hello everyone,
Sadly, there are some issues with the 414212 and these are keeping it from entering service. Additionally, other priorities are keeping the railroad from resolving said issues. Its hoped that work on addressing these will begin on this Friday (10/11/2024), but nothing has been confirmed as of 3:25PM CST on 10/7/2024.

Re: Train sets!
Hello everyone, have some sad news to share (as of 4:10PM CST as on 10/9/2024).
Unfortunately, cylindrical covered hopper 109915 has broken a coupler recently and was taken out of service as a result. Due to other priorities, it remains to be seen when said car will return to service at this time. Also the railroad's newest crane also remains out of service at present.

Re: Train sets!
Hello all, got some news to share (as of 9:05AM CST on 11/4/2024).
While hopper car 109915's busted coupler has been repaired, crane 414212 continues to have issues that are taking longer to correct than initially thought. Also, for VERY childish reasons, one of the railroad's two former Conrail 40' boxcars has gone missing. Adding frustration to the matter is that the person suspected of this has been stubbornly refusing to take responsibility for their actions and make the whereabouts of said car known.
On the plus side, the loading & transport of malt barley and raw grain continues despite the loss of one freight car.
Please stay tuned for further updates as the Phoenix Line Railroad's story contines.

Re: Train sets!
Hello all, have some more updates to share (as of 12:25PM CST on 11/6/2024).
The railroad's other former Conrail boxcar has been found now and, thankfully, its undamaged. It remains to be seen when (or if) the person responsible for its disappearance will be punished however Former CP rail crane 414212 has entered service now and, thankfully, covered hopper 109915 has re-entered service following coupler replacement.
