Re: Ivlog General Discussion!
Just a guess on my part, but they also need to start thinking about switching over to HTML5 soon.

I would be doing the same Arthur. I use Chrome more than Mircosoft Edge. Edge is my back up and I do use it for certain websites. But I would use Chrome a lot more. I am use if I was there I would be using Chrome. I would get the Flash permission if I was on there too. Just I haven't been on iVlog in a very long time. I know Andy still uses it for his show but I haven't seen his show in a very long time either

Re: Ivlog General Discussion!
I have also heard a new EU copyright law could have implications for alot of live streaming sites over there. As they will be forced to either get rid of all copyrighted content available in that country, or leave the country.
Re: Ivlog General Discussion!
This new law has gone into effect already, but hasn't been fully implemented... yet.

Re: Ivlog General Discussion!
Well if it hasn't been implemented yet, then it really hasn't gone into effect has it?
Re: Ivlog General Discussion!
I'm not too sure about this to be honest but it probably hasn't gone into effect because there is a lot of pushback against it and this has forced further debate about it (at least in the UK anyway).

Re: Ivlog General Discussion!
see in the UK that's one thing but here in the US there pushing HTML5 and i think it's going to be much of a bigger thing here then in the UK and the UK is always behind on technology.
Re: Ivlog General Discussion!
While such is the case, there is a VERY high number of websites that still use FMLE at the present time.Brandon wrote:HTML5 is a global standard now.

Re: Ivlog General Discussion!
It seems every website has to use a certain way of streaming live video. But it seems a lot of websites are using it now. Since I know there is a lot of streaming websites out there. I only know of a few of them but there is probably a lot of them. I know they would have to use the same format to steam live video

Re: Ivlog General Discussion!
Alot of streaming sites use flash cause it's easier to work with then html5 and in some ways does work better. The problem is with support soon to end, sites need to just go ahead and make the switch while they still got time.
Re: Ivlog General Discussion!
Any sites that go dark because of Flash support ending have nobody but their tech team to blame.

Re: Ivlog General Discussion!
camup won't go dark cuz there already HTML5 Vaughn won't either But sites that do use flash will if they don't change over soon
Re: Ivlog General Discussion!
actually More sites are using OBS now FMLE has not had an update since 2012 that was the last update for FMLE it's as dead now and will become more unusable as HTML5 Becomes more of the standards for Live streaming.TigerTankFan wrote:While such is the case, there is a VERY high number of websites that still use FMLE at the present time.Brandon wrote:HTML5 is a global standard now.
Re: Ivlog General Discussion!
I wasn't referring to a specific site actually.

Re: Ivlog General Discussion!
yep and i don't think they will be HTML5 ready just yet cuz alot of things get put on the back burner of that site
Re: Ivlog General Discussion!
I honestly don't blame them for waiting, because html5 is way more laggy than flash when it comes to streaming.
Re: Ivlog General Discussion!
ya but there is a benefit to HTML5 not having to use flash in the future most sites now have already adopted HTML5 for video flash video is already dead it's just on life support until they pull the plug next year.
Re: Ivlog General Discussion!
I am aware of this, I was simply pointing out that I don't play any website for holding out as long as they can this year on it.
Re: Ivlog General Discussion!
i think the point being is that if ivlog don't change when 2020 comes there site could bite the dust and possibly a thing of the past if HTML5 is not implemented my next year.
Re: Ivlog General Discussion!
ya html5 is becoming the thing of the future and i think it will do well as soon as the lag in minimized for video
Re: Ivlog General Discussion!
I think they might do away with guest chatting soon, as the owner of the site made a facebook post, and a cast where he invited users to discuss 'the future of guest access'. I guess we will know soon enough if they remove guest chatting or not.
Re: Ivlog General Discussion!
I for one would not miss guest chat on this site as most of the time guests on chatting sites are complete and total assholes who unfairly judge people.Brandon wrote:I think they might do away with guest chatting soon, as the owner of the site made a facebook post, and a cast where he invited users to discuss 'the future of guest access'.
