Is having a website important to having a successful online station?

Hello everyone,

I have an interesting question for you all today. Do you think having a website for your radio station (online or otherwise), live stream, etc is important to it being successful?

Me personally I have always made sure my online radio station has had a decent website listeners and fans can always go to for information, schedule, social media, announcements, etc and I have found it does seem to help.

What do you guys all think though? Is having a website, free or paid, important to the success of a radio station, live stream and the like?

i think it is really important to have a website for a radio station or if you live stream you can embed your channel to get more listeners i think it is an important part if you live stream or if you just want a site for your station

Well the embed part depends on the streaming site you use actually. Most sites will atleast let you embed the player in there.

that is true i for one don't mess with that but i do have an audio only player on my site that i need to get active again tho.

Another question as well, what do you think is most important to include on a website?

also having a Mixcloud option added as well i had that at one point on mine this way people can listen to the streams that where uploaded i also still have links added to my other social media as well i have not got as far as a schedule yet for mine that might happen mid year the main feature of my site was the mixcloud feature.

I believe having a website for anything in this day of age is definitelly a good thing. Me personally I haven't streamed or had a website in a long time, but if I did I would certainly have a website.

What do you guys use to make your websites? A free web builder like webs or do you code from scratch?

we use Wix for ours it has very easy site building features and it's free you don't pay anything unless you want to do more with your site if you just want a basic easy to use site i go free and right now i'm working on mine bringing it up to date for the new year little by little i already changed the copyright year on it so ya having a website does have it's benefits
