Has anyone here used Zoom?

Hello everyone,

Has anyone here used the new (and from the looks of it increasingly popular) chat and video conferencing app and program Zoom? If so, what do you think of it?

i have not used it and i don't think i will not until they security patch it cuz as of right now it is a security risk for windows and mac.

I haven't used it either yet.

But I believe @DJJosh has.

i don't think i will ever use it i already got skype and Discord on my computer i don't think i need another video chat app on it when i already have both skype and discord.

But between Skype and zoom which is better to you?

skype is better by a long shot it's been around longer then Discord and Zoom.

I have used Zoom twice for online men's meetings with my church. It is good and I do like it. Skype is good too just I don't use Skype very much at all. Just some times to call my uncle in Ontario. Other than that I don't use Skype I do live it signed in on invisible just in case I do need to use it. Zoom is good with meetings happening at certain times of the day or night. I like using Zoom as it is different than Skype but I do like it when you can. I would say it is best set up a account on there since it makes is easier to go into meetings or even start your own meeting if you wanted to. Zoom is only on my mom's account I don't have it on my account. I only Zoom for online meeting's with my church but it can be used to join many other meetings too

it is if your use to using it i don't see zoom replacing skype or Discord anytime soon due to all the bad stuff that has been uncovered about Zoom already and the list is getting longer by the day being that the app was made by China.

Well Zoom seems to be the most popular one now, everyday now I get questions about it at work.

it still Poses a Security Risk For windows and Mac i wouldn't trust it still.

A lot people don't have a choice, employers are using it since it has the best multi user conferencing capability.

yes it may be fine if you have a job or church stuff and most schools are using it that's about all it's more of a Business tool IE will never replace skype in anyways it's only popular due to what is going on in the world right now ZOOM will be long forgotten after thing's open up again.

It seems to be popular used at my church. I have used it twice and I do like it. Skype is a good too just I don't use Skype too much just some times. That is my thoughts

I would say Zoom is more popular than Skype right now.

it maybe popular cuz of people staying home again it's more of a Business tool then a normal communication app compared to skype that is more for normal communication businesses need an app like ZOOM to keep going in times like this like Churches Schools ect. to keep in contact when working from home that's mainly all it's used for the average person is not going to use Zoom for personal use Skype still holds that spot for Personal Communication Zoom is no more then a Business communication App that's what it was designed for and that's it's main use that's my take on it.

Well guess we will find out how it does in the future. However, I know Skype has been losing market share for years now.

I would say Zoom is real popular. I do use it some times but my mom does use it for meeting she has to join about different products for this company she uses. I do mostly use it with my church but that is about it. I don't use Skype at all. Just some times for calling my uncle in Ontario. I could use it to call Aaron and Brandon with help with OBS when ever that may happen. But that is about all I would use it for

i don't want to be mean here but i don't think i will ever install Zoom not unless they continue to fix the things that still need patching i don't really trust an app of any kind if it poses a Security Risk for my install of Windows 10 i want to wait till the app had time to mature abit more before i even think about installing it like i did with Discord i'm only going to install apps that have been security patched from the developer that wrote the software and had time to mature abit now if you do need help with anything OBS wise Josh skype is your best bet for now cuz at least i can see what is going on in screen share on skype

Thanks for that Aaron. I do rarely use Skype. I did add Brandon on there a while back but I haven't talked to him on there. I don't use Zoom a lot just some times for meetings with my church. It is only installed on my account on the laptop. I didn't install it on my account on my laptop since I just use the one on my mom's account. I would have to add you on Skype before I can call about OBS Studio but I am sure that could work out some how

np i always like to wait for communication apps to mature before i really try it it has to be out in the wild longer for me to really use it and i think i sent you a request on skype back in April i think so you may want to check

I would say I like Skype better. Zoom is good but not my favorite at all. Aaron I only didn't get a request from you at all on Skype. I have tried searching for you on Skype but there is too many Aaron's on there with the same name and I didn't know which was you. You can send me another request on Skype Aaron. Not sure what happened to the request since I didn't get one back in April at all

I sent you Aaron's skype in a message on Skype Josh.

Aaron Zoom might actually work better for you. It was designed to work on slower connections.
