Verizion General Discussion.

In this topic anyone can discuss general discussions about Verizion, Channels, Prices, Shows, NEWS, Special offers.

You can also discuss if and why you like or dis like verizion, but remmeber to respect everyone's opinions, if you have a debate keep it polite and respectful. Nothing that can break Broadcasting Duo (BD)'s Terms of use.

What is Canada's 'big 3' anyway?

That is a 3-way group of media companies that own most (but not all) of the phone and television signals that broadcast in Canada. There's a lot of disgust and hatred directed to these organizations, but there's little choice (aside from not watching TV or using the internet).

they can go with their local carriers, or an independent one, like wind mobile, or if they are smart, they will avoid the whole mess all together

Sometimes local providers are not the best option. As you folks in Canada know quite well. That would not be allowed to happen in the Us .

well as long as there's independent carriers on the up, there will be a force to bring down the strangle hold

but it's a good sign the strangle hold is under siege, even if it's going to be a long battle of attrition.

its a capitalist system, and the average joe can't do very much to protest it.

That is exactly why the US Goverent will never let anything like that happen, it is not ethinical. That is why cable companies have to let Verizion or companies like Time Warner Cable in. To spread the wealth around. The Canadian government isn't doing thT and thats a big mistake on their part.

Money generation seems to be the no.1 priority for Canada's government, but there's very little (if anything) that its citizens can do about it.

Money generation? To who, the same people over and over again. Thags an economy that never improves, just stays the same. The rich keep getting richer while everyone else stays the same or gets worse. That is exactly how the U.S economy was before the great depression.

How? That would be not using tv, internet or phone services. Unless your willing to live like a caveman, no one will put up with that.

Considering the fact that having a phone is an essential part of finding then keeping paid employment for many people, following 1mtvfan's advice is not a viable option.

stick to a land line, and go without cable, avoid the mess as much as possible. i went without for years without it

Who do think provides the service for the landlines? Oh yeah! The cable companies!

not true, it is the phone companies that have started offering tv service, not the cable companies

In America maybe, but there are some phone only companies here in Canada

sort of, Bell and Robbers offer TV service. Telus however does not, at least not as far as i know.
but they all screw people over because they have a stake in many of the smaller companies. so there is little to no escape, unless you got to the company known as wind Mobile.

I have to say that the nature of this thread has taken a very noticeable turn for the worse now, and I've started to consider discontinuing my association with it as a result.
