Camup General Discussion

First topic message reminder :

Hello everyone,

I make this topic today to help us get a discussion on Camup.tv going.

Camup is a pretty good site, it has both html5 and flash video players, a decent chat, free stream keys and even guest cams (though you have to become a 'donator' to activate this now)

Do any of you guys use Camup? How do you like it? I will provide my experience with it in the next post.

One can thank the inventor of USB for how easy it is to use webcams, keyboards and computer mice these days.

Let's not forget mixers as well as a lot of them are USB now as well in getting clean audio out to the viewer.

Yep USB has made our lives easier, but now they want to move to USB-C.

Getting back on topic, I remain omitted to doing casts for BGRN on this site.

I am sure all of the cams are working. Just I haven't went on cam in a long time. I was in Dylan's room on Good & Plenty Radio but I didn't go on cam at all. I am sure it was all sorted out but I am using HTML5 and it is working better than Flash. Since Flash was freezing up on me. But it is easy way to switch back and forth from HTML5 and Flash with the gear on the website

Yes, that is what I meant. Unfortunately I often post things without taking time to proof-read them first, my bad there.

It seems you need to be flash to use the cams since I was doing a show yesterday. It did say to use Flash for cams but I was using HTML5 for my show. It was good but it took a little bit to show the video. I do find the HTML5 there is a little bit of a lag to it. But Aaron did mention that in his show earlier in the week

HTML5 is getting better tho and guest cams do work just takes abit of time depending on the connection is all.

Yep exactly the site is now full html5 ready .

Fantastic news there Aaron! It may take people a while to get used to the new software though.

Breaking news!!!

As of 6:00 PM CDST on 8/22/2020, Camup is scheduled to close down and will be defunct by January 1st, 2021. I for one am NOT happy about it.

Thanks for the update Arthur. I wouldn't be happy about it at all. Cam Up is awesome and I love doing my show on there

i wouldn't be happy either if the site closed i hate that people likes to spread rumors even other casters that cast there so it's best to enjoy our selfs on the site and ignore all the rumors that are going around

I definitely would not be happy if the site closed, and I have told the owner of the site they should keep it open. I also told him he has my continued support.

yeah same here Brandon i really enjoy the site and i would be sad if it did close we work hard to support the site every year let's just hope it sticks around for a long time

I will also be sad if this casting site closes down as its a good site.
Such would mean that BGRN and other casters would only have two options if it did close down, and neither option is overly appealing to me.

Well I am hoping there won't be a need to even have to consider any option other than Camup.

i'm hoping do as well i can't think of casting anywhere else it's camup for me

For the time being, the only alternatives to Camup are:

1). iVlog (which Brandon isn't a big fan of, due to its stance on groups like BGRN)

2.) Vaughn Live (which doesn't allow guests anymore).

3.) Dlive (which has a clunky and somewhat confusing live room configuration).

I may have missed something with the above list, but these appear to be the most well-known casting sites that remain in operation as of September 2020.

I am happy on Cam Up. I hope to do my show on there with OBS Studio. Since it is going good and also getting new viewers on there. Don't need to believe any rumors from any other broadcasters since it won't be true at all. I wouldn't be happy if it did close down as it would be a very sad day

I hope so too Aaron. I am happy there. I didn't get to do a show yesterday I will be doing a late show today. Just hoping Cam Up will stick around too
