Logitech C920 Pro Webcam

Hello guys,

I recently got a new hd webcam for my set up. The webcam I got is the Logitech C920 Pro Webcam, which is one of Logitech's better webcams from what I can tell. The webcam is normally $50 dollars, but I got it for only $15 on clearance, which was the main reason I bought it. I plan to use it in conjunction with my built in webcam.

I have already tested the new webcam, and I gotta say for the most part it is an improvement from the built in cam, the color is more realistic and clearer and details are crisper (as they should be with a 1080p resolution cam). The only 2 things for me that are down side is the fact that the lens are not as wide angeled as my built in one (only 78 degrees according to the box) and so it has a narrower field of view. The 2nd downside I have with it, is that it does not perform well in dim light, when i have my flashing led lights going right behind me, the webcam is only able to make out a silhouette instead of my actual face, something even my built in webcam can do.

Overall though I am satisified with the webcam and would recommend it to anyone wanting a good, high definition webcam.

Do any of you have any experience with this webcam? If so, what are your thoughts on it?

cool i have a Logitech C615 HD Webcam it's good for what i got it for the only issue with mine is the cord is to short but nothing but a USB extender cable can't fix

That is the next model down I think.

ya but it works good in Low Light tho

I have been using this very cam for my BGRN shows for a while now and am quite pleased with it.

Not really, we barely see you in the dark lol.

well if there is some light but the cam actually does really good if i'm not to far away from it in the dark the only time it get's dark is before i turn on the spot for the disco ball but other then that it does well

True, but if you kill your disco lights, all we see is a shadow, if that.

I am glad you like the new webcam there Brandon. I have used Logitech webcams and microphones in the past and they do indeed work well.

i have used Logitech for a good couple of years already i kind of like it alot more then the microsoft cam i use to use

I didn't know that mircosoft actually made webcams.

they do art they made the Studio Line of webcams in full HD i used one from 2012 up till late 2016 but then soon after i moved to Logitech and never looked back

Microsoft Products tend to be overpriced anyway.

I honestly wouldn't know as I have never used any of Microsoft's external hardware.

Considering their keyboards sell between 70 to a 100 bucks where I work I would agree with you about them being overpriced Aaron.

The Logitech C290 has a built-in mic as well, and I use this to talk with my friends on Skype. I did want to try and use it for my BGRN shows too, but such proved to be a failure.

Isn't that the one that isn't HD?

Yes, this is the HD webcam we are talking about in this thread.

Mine is the C615 and mine is HD and it works with OBS you just add your web cam to OBS art and it will work.

I have looked into this matter and Aaron is correct. I am worried that changing this setting will make it impossible for my listeners to hear the music that I'm playing however.

your settings would likely stay the same a change in webcam won't have any effect in how your audio is setup.

Video and audio are 2 different things. I often am switching between 2 cams and my audio doesnt change.

i agree brandon your audio track in OBS is on it's own thing your video is independent from the audio so if your video goes your audio is still there i had my cam just randomly freeze on stream before and the audio was still there

That's very interesting information Aaron, I will have to see if this is the case with my OBS installation at some point.
