Is Satellite TV better then cable?

Hello everyone, I wanted to know if Satellite TV is better then Cable TV, if so why? If not why? I know one is cheaper, but are there any other advantages?

Again though, we are talking very bad thunder storms here, not little rain storms, the technology has gotten a ton better!

I personally don't use neither, I am not a TV fan. I'll rather stick watching Netflix or something on my phone.

well, there is some truth to that (seeing as satellite tv needs a decoder box for every television) but we can't forget about the money factor

Speaking of money, there's been some debate about the cost of something called "skinny" cable. I'm still not entirely sure what this thing is though.

my guess at this would be that it is a package of local cable channels only, but this requires further research

I also heard that the fcc is reviewing a bill to try and get rid of cable boxes. They want to replace them with an app or something.

only to try and gouge their customers out of more money they don't need to lose, capitalism is a pain in the caboose, and because they just want in on the streaming market, because they know people are turning away from TV entirely, The FCC is in on the game as much as the TV providers are

Hopefully the fcc isn't on the tv provider side. They should do what favors the people.

well, they seem to do nothing to stop the gouging, so who knows
