Re: Favorite AM Radio Stations?
I used to spend a lot of time listening to an AM Radio station called KY58 (officially known as 580 CKY), but this network has re-branded itself and switched to the FM dial now.

Re: Favorite AM Radio Stations?
cool i seam to favor FM more then AM since FM cover longer distances AM is a shorter distance signal and is why your seeing more station's on FM then AM and now with the rise of the smart speaker radio towers will be a thing of the past and they will have it all on the internet in the future
Re: Favorite AM Radio Stations?
The only AM station I would listen to some time is AM 1140. But most of the time it is 88.9 Shine FM which I do listen to some times. I do rarely listen to the radio since it is mostly radio singles listen to which are always good. Even there is good radio programs out there. Just listening to radio does take up a lot of time and it is better when your out doing things driving around in your car. But I am sure it can be nice at home too

Re: Favorite AM Radio Stations?
alot of radio now is done by digital tuning very soon AM will be mostly gone and it's been on the decline for the past couple of decades now.
Re: Favorite AM Radio Stations?
The only radio I do listen to is String Ray Music with their channel called The Light. It plays all of the same radio singles that my local Christian radio station would play. I just find it easier to have it on since it is non stop music with no commericals at all. But I am sure AM radio won't be staying around too long since it is something that has been a decline for a long time now

No commercials! Wow they must be funded by donations or something then.
Re: Favorite AM Radio Stations?
all our stations here have Ads running all the time that's how they make there money it's not just by what song is played it's all about running the ads on the hour so.
Re: Favorite AM Radio Stations?
Such is more or less the same here in Canada, but CBC Radio is publicly funded and isn't allowed to run any adds other than those promoting its own shows.

Really? So it's 100% funded through donations or taxes or something?
That explains why CBC is able to do the Marketplace Show they do on tv. They actually do good investigative journalism on that show.
Re: Favorite AM Radio Stations?
Yes, the CBC is 100% publicly funded. Such is causing a major backlash however, as I've seen several comments calling for it to be defended and/or privatized on Yahoo News. The television branch of CBC used to have a program called 5th Estate as well but this may have been cancelled by now.
My parents have always been CBC listeners, but they've resorted to turning their radios off quite frequently now, as this radio network has implemented an hourly news format (which tends to repeat the same news several times a day).

The 5th Estate is still an active program on CBC Television: https://www.cbc.ca/fifth/

Yes it must be. Since you hear some short list audio saying your listening to String Ray Music. That is all you hear. The rest of the time it is non stop music which is mostly radio singles. The Light plays mostly the same songs you would hear on Christian radio stations along with Canadian Christian Music Artists too. That is why I love listening to it since there is no ads just non stop music the whole time

Re: Favorite AM Radio Stations?
i don't think we have many Christian Radio stations here in the states there is more talk radio tho then anything else.
Re: Favorite AM Radio Stations?
I think there might 1 out here, but not really sure since I don't listen to any radio stations except one on occasion.
Re: Favorite AM Radio Stations?
oh ok i didn't know that it's mainly talk radio here in Arizona most of the the people that listen to that are age 65 and older so.
Re: Favorite AM Radio Stations?
I know there is two Christian radio stations in the states called Air 1 Radio and K Love radio. You can listen to them online but I know they are based in the USA. Not sure about Christian radio stations in the USA since I am sure there is a lot of them. But there is a good amount of Christian radio stations in Canada. That is all I do listen to if I am listening to since I am not a fan of any mainstream radio stations. The last time I listened to the radio was a very long time ago

Re: Favorite AM Radio Stations?
Due to the current world crisis, I have stopped listening to CBC Radio as I've become VERY tired of hearing the same (expletive deleted) news every single hour (as of 1:50 PM CST on 3/28/2020).

I don't blame you there Art.
Re: Favorite AM Radio Stations?
even on FM they talk about it all the time it's getting annoying they run ads all the time on FM About the Stupid virus

I would say that is only because CBC Radio does share the news. I wouldn't listen to any news related radio station since in these current times it would get real annoying hearing what is going on in the world. I would just choose to radio stations that just play music just to avoid the news all together

Re: Favorite AM Radio Stations?
Even music stations have been bringing it up every few songs. Your best bet is to avoid radio altogether and just use Spotify like I do .
