Re: Train sets!
Hello all, just a few updates here (as of 3:50PM CDST on 5/26/2022).
1.) Cylindrical covered hopper 110040 remains in storage at present but the railroad plans to bring it back as soon as possible.
2.) Unfortunately an unforeseen worker's strike has resulted in the plan to have Arlee's paper mill get its chemical storage tanks getting placed on hold for an as yet undermined period of time.
Please stay tuned for further updates as the Phoenix Line Railroad's story continues.

Please stay tuned for future updates as the Phoenix Line Railroad's story conitues.

Re: Train sets!
Hello everyone,
Once again there's not much to share (as of 8:35AM CDST on 6/7/2022) but the paper mill in Arlee continues to receive & ship loads. As usual the loading of raw grain & malt barley at Rustyville's grain elevator, its transport to the facility at Oakdale and its unloading there also continues.
Please stay tuned for further updates as the Phoenix Line Railroad's story conitnues.

Re: Train sets!
Hello everyone.
Got a mixed bag of news to share today (as of 9:00AM CDST on 6/12/2022).
Unfortunately spare axle car 126554 was damaged in an accident on 6/10/2022, but the railroad was able to get it loaded onto another flatcar and get it to the maintenance yard on the following day. It remains in this area at present, but its return to service date is unknown.
On the plus side, most of the other operations on the railroad haven't been affected by this accident.
Please stay tuned for further updates as the Phoenix Line Railroad's story continues.

Re: Train sets!
Hello all, hope everything is good.
I have some good news to share (as of 6:45PM CDST on 6/18/2022). The PLRX was able to fix the 126554 earlier today and its back in service now. Its not used all that much actually, so it being out of service for almost two weeks has had VERY little (if any) effect on its operations.

Re: Train sets!
Hello all.
Unfortunately the railroad had to take another freight car out of service recently (as of 11:50AM CDST on 6/23/2022), but once again this turned out to be a temporary thing. As usual cargos continue to be transported between Arlee, Rustyville, Oakville & Timberneck Gultch. I've also learned that there may be another worker's strike taking place but such remains as talk for now.

Hello everyone!
Sadly I don't have a lot to share at present (1:40PM CDST on 6/25/2022) but the railroad continues to transport bulk cargo between Arlee, Oakdale, Rustyville and Timberneck Gultch.

Hello everyone, got some updates to share as of 12:40PM CDST on 6/29/2022.
1.) Cylindrical covered hopper 110040 has been loaded with raw grain since its accident now and its in the process of delivering it to the ADM grain elevator in Oakdale.
2.) While rumors of a worker's strike continue to swirl, nothing has come of them yet.

Re: Train sets!
Hello everyone, got a little bit of bad news to share today (as of 9:50AM CDST on 7/2/2022).
For reasons that I still don't completely understand, the PLRX's train crews have gone on strike. The railroad's management has told me that they plan on getting this matter resolved as soon as possible but I honestly don't know what the future will look like for the railroad right now.

Hello everyone!
Sadly the worker's strike drags on (as of 11:30AM CDST on 7/5/2022), but the PLRX's management remains committed to getting this embarrassing and progress inhibiting matter sorted out as soon as physically possible. As always I will do what I can to keep everyone on here informed of all and any developments.

Re: Train sets!
Hello everyone, got some updates to share!!!
The Phoenix Line's workers strike has ended now but there hasn't been a lot of activity on the railroad as of 11:50AM CDST on 7/7/2022. Former UP 4008 and former CP Rail 5020 have both taken runs on the mainline recently but such are the only operations to take place. The railroad's newest B unit also remains in storage at present, and such is due to it not being needed on the main passenger train.
The railroad's future remains to be seen for the present but I will do what I can to keep all of you on here informed.

Re: Train sets!
Hello everyone!
Just thought I'd let you all know that former CN Rail SD40-2s 5937 and 5243 have powered a 10-car eastbound merchandise train on the PLRX recently. Unfortunately I'm not too sure when there's going to be any more operations taking place but I will keep you all informed about these as best I can.

Re: Train sets!
Hello everyone.
Not too much is happening on the railroad (as of 10:30AM CDST on 7/18/2022), but there's been another accident in Oakdale. One of the road's 54' 3-bay covered hoppers (former DRGW road no.15307) has taken the plunge. It was recovered but its load of grain wasn't. This car is now in the road's maintenance yard after receiving repairs and will be restored to service as soon as possible.

Re: Train sets!
Hello everyone, got some news to share (as of 6:30PM CDST on 7/21/2022).
In response to Arlee's paper mill's request, the railroad has said that it has planned to start using its pair of grain-loading boxcars to transport loads of woodchips from the lumber yard at Timberneck Gulch at some point next month. Unfortunately I'm not sure about the exact date of this but will do what I can to keep all of you informed.

Re: Train sets!
Hello all,
There's not a lot happening with the railroad at present (as of 6:45PM CDST on 7/24/2022), but I've been informed that plans to have its two former grain-loading boxcars carry woodchips to the paper mill in Arlee are moving forward.

Re: Train sets!
Hello all, have some more information to share (as of *:45AM CDST on 7/27/2022)
Unfortunately the railroad has had more issues with some of its barley and grain hoppers on the Arlee Branch again recently but the accident was cleaned up quickly as it did very little (if any) damage. Also, one of the road's grain-loading boxcars is ready to take a trip to Timberneck Gulch and be loaded with woodchips.

Hello everyone, here are some updates (as of 12:45PM CDST on 7/29/2022).
The railroad has moved its pair of former grain-loading boxcars into Timberneck Gulch for woodchip loading, and both were last seen waiting for transport to Arlee's paper mill in Oakdale. I have nothing else to share at this time but will do what I can to keep those that want to know informed.

Re: Train sets!
Hello again everyone, forgot to mention this before my trip so here is some more information about the recent developments.
The previously mentioned boxcars have been delivered to the paper mill at Arlee, off-loaded their woodchips and have returned to Hillside now (as of 7:10PM CDST on 8/8/2022). I expect that this will be happening again very soon as 40' cars can't hold a lot of this and it takes a LOT of these to make paper.
