First topic message reminder :

If anyone is wondering, Windows 8 was originally intended for mobile devices but Microsoft had to develop the 8.1 patch because many people still use a desktop computer rather than a mobile device. Unfortunately there's going to be a time when support for win7 (which is what I'm using at present) will end, but I'm hoping that this doesn't happen anytime soon.

maybe, but knowing a lot of issues, no Windows OS is ever free of glitches and bugs.

yes, but still, people want an OS that is stable and glitch free, and Windows has let everyone down in that dept.

Not in Windows 7 they did not. If Vista did not happen we would be saying Windows 7 sucks instead of Windows Vista because Vista was necessary for it to be so good.

Microsoft Debate - Page 4 Empty Re: Microsoft Debate

Post by bgradionetwork Mon 02 Mar 2015, 11:04 am

When Microsoft made Windows Vista, they were trying to move Windows in a completely new direction, it was completely different from Windows XP. So since they were moving in a new direction they had an idea of how to do it, however, it was not done the best possible way, because they did know the best possible way. They wanted to make an advanced version of XP which they did (as shown through the indiviual tabs in the task bar), but then they realized they should stack them to make them effiecent and figured out a couple hardware issues and you Windows 7. But without Vista they would not have been able to figure that out and therefore make better (which was Windows 7). So while Vista does suck, do not think Microsoft simply was lazy and did it like that on purpose to create a crappy software, they did it so they could move the software in a new direction and they did not know there would be factors causing issues. Once they did they fixed them and created Windows 7. It was not intentional.

You should upgrade to 7 absolutely. But Vista still deserves respect for its role in making Windows 7 the perfect new generation software.

Vista may have brought about windows 7, but it's reputation is far from respectful when it does nothing but crash and lock up on the user

No it deserves respect not because of the software itself, but because without it, we would not have Windows 7. Without Vista windows 7 never happens, that is why it deserves respect.

crashes and freeze ups are in no way deserving of respect, that's not what an OS is all about. even if vista brought about windows 7.

But Windows 7 would crashing and freezing up if Vista had not pointed out these issues so that Microsoft could fix it. I never said the software performance was worthy of praise or respect (someone can and should simply upgrade to Windows 7) but the fact that it had weaknesses pointed these out and made Windows 7 the software it is. If Vista had not, we would be all be bashing Windows 7 instead. Respect what it did for it's successor and allowed us to have a excellent near perfect software as Windows 7. F
